If you're a sushi lover then run, don't walk, to Sakura. This place has the best sushi in town. Every bite was absolute perfection! On top of the amazing food, we had truly exceptional service. Kylie, our server, was incredibly knowledgeable, offering thoughtful recommendations and explaining the menu with genuine enthusiasm. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs the entire night. Sakura and Kylie are the goat.

My favorite sushi restaurant when I lived in town. I would usually go for lunch and order their 3 roll special. As I was here for dinner I got the spicy roll combo. I don't know what it is but their spicy salmon roll is the best. The mackerel is always really good too. You didn't used to get soup and salad comp with dinner but I guess they changed that. It's been years since the last time I was here. They've updated the interior some. They opened up the private rooms for more dining space, and the decor is a little darker and more modern. Service has always been good, I usually sit at the sushi counter. Be sure to tip the sushi chefs.

If my taste buds could write poetry there would be a haiku here about Sakura. From the moment you walk in you know you’re in for a treat. I got the butterfly roll recommended to me since I like sashimi and I swear it was so fresh I’m convinced it swam onto the plate. The service is fantastic. Julian is charming, knows the menu better than I know my own schedule, and refilled our drinks like he had a sixth sense. I came here twice this month, once with the girlfriend, once with the wife. Both said it was the best date night ever. I credit the sweetheart roll and the sexy salmon.

Overall great experience! Our server Jaelyn was personable and attentive and gave us exemplary service!! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Great date night spot—the tables are a little close together but the vibe is so cozy I don’t mind. We’ll be back!!

4/2925 UPDATED KANE and Hugh made or April night out special with the Paradise and Islander Rolls. We capped the evening off with last month’s special, Salmon Crunch roll. 3/2025 Salmon Crunch a March special roll was fabulous. We capped things off with a Ryu and Cupid roll. Thank you Wayne and Kane for make our sushi nights special. 2/2025 Wayne and his fellow chefs continue to make this the best sushi restaurant in Tallahassee. We tried two of this month’s specials, the Cupid and the Rose. Cupid won hands down. The Ryu (last month special) is still a fan favorite too. Fresh wasabi on top made each roll pop with additional flavor. Try the Kurosawa sake if a solo drinker or the Gekkeikan Black and Gold if wanting to share. Both sake’s pair well with the sushi. 1/2025 This continues to be one of my favorite Tallahassee sushi places. We typically sit at the sushi bar and interact with chef Wayne . This time we tried Tuna Tango roll, (Fireworks roll - no), Ryu roll - favorite, Mango Tango, Tallahassee Roll. We substituted real crab instead of Kani in Fireworks and Tallahassee rolls. Black & Gold sake was crisp and dry with a slight mineral taste. 2019 Better than average sushi and one of the waiters gave a great recommendation for a dry sake. Bonfire Roll was our favorite.

Place has great service and food. Never a dull taste or minute wasted waiting. Very respectful managers and workers. Love the vibe, would highly recommend!

Sakura is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Tallahassee. They have the best sushi in town. The service is also fantastic! Kylie specifically was amazing for my group, everything was super fast and she had fantastic recommendations.

Wonderful sushi & service! Everything was fresh. The tempura was some of the best we’ve ever had. Totally FIVE STARS!!
